BOOKS. THE ART OF RIDE FOR FREE: or how to travel without move.

Goodmorning Goodmorning GOODFELLAS!
How are you?
It's been a while, you know since we really caught up.
I thought about the road, the path to follow.
About the most important event to see.
I spent a lot of time with my family.
And I planned some important upgrades for my Desmo Hypermotard.
But, the most relevant big story was the lowest temperatures in Italy.
The Burian brought the snow in the second half of February, cold a real danger on the roads.
So, no motorbike rides for me.
Like in these days.
Rain and cold weather forced the Boss and me to stay at home too much.
And the only way to escape madness and insanity sometimes is to read a good book.
Books, better.
With a lot of pics, perfect.
Right!
So, I will open for you the doors of my Studio, and you can take some inspirations for a good reading with this poor review.
You know that I'm in love with the Desmo bikes, and I've written an article about, for the 90th anniversary of the brand.
So move on and let's talk about two milestones in the vintage and old bikes department:
In the two tomes, you will find the best of the best worldwide motorcycle production closely guarded by real monuments men!
From Parmeggiani Collection to Giancarlo Morbidelli, passing through the Museo Nazionale del Motociclo.
From the early days of the motorized bicycle to the present days!
The greatest Italian collectors and the best Motorcycle, divided in two books:

La Storia in un Rombo Vol.1 from the first motorcycle till 50's

La Storia in un Rombo Vol.2 from 50's till 80's

An amazing Encyclopedia (Vol.1 and Vol.2) about the Best Motorcycle you could see in whole a life.
From the origin of the motorized bicycle, till the turbo beast of the 80's.
A great Manifesto about these Monuments men, that preserve real pieces of history.
The Story of men that inside of themselves take care to defend the memory of their times, the youth.
Bikes that represent important years.

Years that could summon and recap an entire life.
MV, YAMAHA, AJS, and PARILLA, MORBIDELLI, DUCATI, HONDA, SUZUKI, INDIAN, HARLEY.
With love, from Italy.

Omobono Tenni: L'antenato di Valentino

Il Diavolo, the Devil.
The first non-UK rider able to win the TT Race.
His name will be forever associated to another great brand: MotoGuzzi.
His winning Guzzi it's now in the Parmeggiani Collection.
His temper, his skills. His courage. The capability to be a pro rider in a time which there is nothing about pro.
His simplicity to be a destinated.

La Rumagna de Mutor

This is, maybe, the best treaty about Motorcycle racing in Romagna; my country.
Where I live, and where everyday I smell the Motorsport passion.
If you were born here, you will love for the rest of your life two wheels with an engine between.
"Mototemporada", Pasolini, Villa, Imola, Misano.
But also Agostini, Milano Marittima, Bergamonti and a lot of heroes who tempted the fate along the Adriatic Seaside.
This book, damn it's for me a real revelation.
But very hard to find.

Ducati Super Sport

The story of a bestseller:
before the Monster and the "Desmoquattro" the SuperSport Signed an Era.
Racing times have shaped this Ducati until she becomes a great sportbike to use on the streets and for the time attack on the track.
From the 750SS till the beast designed by Pierre Terblanche equipped with the 1000 Desmo.
With an amazing digression about the SPORTCLASSIC series.

Ducati 999

In this book, you will find everything about the amazing bike made by Pierre Terblanche.
From the first sketches and drawings till the 1/2 scale model pre-production.
Witnesses and attestations of the people who worked on.
Do you like #TERBLANCHEDESIGN?
Well, don't miss this amazing documentary!

Ducati Desmodue

From the born of the Desmodue till his new re-evolution in the new Scrambler.
TT2 and TT1, the story behind the most famous Ducati air-cooled.
And damn, yes, here again, Pierre Terblanche with some quotes about the Multi1100 and Hypermotard!

Benelli e MotoBi

Pesaro:
Not so far from my house, in a city close to the sea, who gave the birth to one the best composer of the whole world, Gioacchino Rossini.
"La Gazza Ladra", "Il Barbiere di Siviglia", "Guillaume Tell".. Sneack picks of his huge compositions.
But, better, And,
Not only classical music: a symphony for every motorcycle lovers:
Benelli and MotoBi, in the center of the city the museum, placed in the old factory. In this book you can read the real story of Benelli's Brothers, and the real reason of the separation till the creation by Giuseppe Benelli of the FAMOSA, pardon, the MototBi.
