EICMA 2018: APRILIA DORSODURO

Following the examples of KTM with its 990 SM, BMW with the beastly HP2 Megamoto and Ducati with the ground-breaking design of Hypermotard, Aprilia in 2008 decided to explore the new Supermoto trend.
And  Aprilia did it with the 2008 Dorsoduro:
a 750cc V-Twin with a design that winks at the icon shaped by Terblanche.
Sporty, with a good balance of power-weight, this bike was a real pioneer in the tech bike area: Ride by wire, ECU with 3 maps (Sport, Touring, Rain), ABS.
78 Hp at 9300rpm, 70 Nm at 4500rpm for 186 Kg. A really interesting toy.

And in 2010 a new big toy for insatiable boys: the Dorsoduro 1200.
It grew the performance and at the same time, it required more skills to ride this bike: 130hp at 8700rpm, 115 Nm at 7200rpm. And 227Kg. Not a featherweight for sure.

Limbo for years.

Till the new upgrade made this year by Aprilia with the renewed range of 900cc V-Twin.

Bye, bye 750 and 1200, and welcome 900! In fact this new 90° V-Twin it's able to grant the 1200  performance with the 750 handling and weight. Square of the circle?
95 Hp at 8750 and 90 Nm at 6500rpm. And 186Kg.
What more do you want? A new design? Maybe Mr.Terblanche in Piaggio Group? Already done, he went away.
