EICMA 2019: AMB 001
AMB 001
Born in the UK!
Born in the UK!
New song out now to promote the Brexit!
(Damn but whattaduck are you saying??)
No, it's not a song. And no again, it's not related to the Brexit.
It's simply a patriotic Hymn because two of the most important luxury brand like Aston Martin and Brough Superior decided to collaborate to produce, in very limited pieces, their new bike.
They called it: AMB 001
And it's just a little bit strange. A sort of Tron Legacy light-cycle passed under the hands of a designer.
The innovative chassis aggregates the best techniques such as a CNC machined from a solid backbone bolted on the V-twin engine which is a fully load-bearing chassis component, combining stiffness with lightness. Then structural carbon fiber rear subframe and Titanium interfaces are completing this high-tech chassis. Wheels are machined from aluminum.
The double-wishbone Fior fork machined from billet aluminum dissociates steering and braking functions, resulting in precise steering and stability that gives a securing feeling.
The motorcycle is not diving when braking and remains really stable while cornering with brakes.
DOHC 997cc 8-Valve 88-degree V-twin, Water & Oil cooled, short stroke measuring 94mm x 71.8mm
Turbo supercharging is an exclusive feature on a serial production motorcycle.
The variable geometry turbo is blowing through an intercooler for more efficiency, its modern turbine with low inertia is avoiding the turbo lag that was damageable on the Turbo motorcycles attempts from the ’80s.
The powerful engine behavior is plain, with quick response and high torque in a wide range of RPM for riding enjoyment.
BIG BANG strokes again!
