EICMA 2019: BIMOTA TESI H2
Thesis: Ω
The end of the Greek alphabet?
The end of everything?
Or simply a new way..?
The 80s. Creativity was at its apex. New solutions were applied everywhere.
Exchanging knowledge from different areas: from aeronautic till automotive, till motorcycles.
For the Tesi project, everything started from the mythological ELF-E. A revolutionary machine made in France to take part at the best world motorcycle championships.
A young Pierluigi Marconi, before graduate in Mechanical engineering, decided to develop this project raising it in a new form.
Thanks BimotaClassicParts for the pic:
Without traditional forks at the front tire, Tesi uses an unedited shock absorber system that gives unknown stability and balance instead of the bike made in the same years. Marconi developed this fascinating system made by Belgian engineer Difazio for his graduation.
And this trial test started as his thesis, become reality a few months later.
Born as a prototype, with a Japanese heart, she grew up and adopted the desmo solution (remember the tiny string..!?). And Bimota started to sell this breathless art of work.
Turns like a scalpel, no downforce on the front tire, and runs like a train.
A timeless design or that could come from days of future past, it's the right framework of this masterpiece.
As I said, the first engine was a VFR400 V4.
And continued with Desmo. A perfect wedding.
Started all with Desmoquattro with the 851 desmo and later with the Tesi2D and 3D equipped with desmodue units.
And now..
Now we can admire the new Tesi H2, reborn under the sign of Marconi. Yes because the new Bimota started from its roots with Pierluigi.
And Kawasaki, the new co-owner of the brand for 49,9%, gave the fresh turbo heart of its H2 to this Beast.
231Hp of turbo-arrogance in all its Tesi allure.
In this case, the Omega frame disappears, like what happened with one of the last trials on the Tesi project of the last years. An evolution that will grant more handling. What else?!
